Project Background

Cooke and Helms is a monthly subscription-based gift that delivers a little escape in every box with seasonally fresh seafood and a hand selected complimentary accompaniment. Each month a different location and theme is selected from around the world, with a recipe from a 5 star chef utilizing fresh off-the-boat seafood from that region. Our task was to name, brand, and market this new monthly subscription service.

A New Name & Identity

The journey of starting a company from launch is never easy, especially in a limited timeline. After mmultiple extensive brainstorming sessions, we landed on the name 'Cooke & Helms'. 'Cooke' deriving from the act of cooking and preparing the seafood, and 'Helms' deriving from the nautical term for the steering wheel of a ship. From here we explored several directions for the Cooke & Helms brand, finally settling on a mark displaying two seahorses representing each side of the company.

Delivering Your Escape

The package's unveiling on delivery needed to be as elegant as the product and experience it contained. The large lid opens like a treasure chest to reveal multiple layers of contents including a custom monthly brochure, themed accessory, and fresh fish. The themed brochure contains new recipes, wine pairings, custom photography, and background information on the fish and region. The homepage of the website is a simple explanation of the program and allows users to chose their subscription level. The membership portal allows the recipient to chose if they would like to receive this month's shipment or if they would like to gift it to a friend or family member.
